Cx Energy 2017 Conference & Expo

Our Senior Commissioning Agent, Nabil Maroun attended the Cx Energy 2017 Conference & Expo that took place last week, April 24-27 in Orlando, Florida presented by the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), and the Energy Management Association (EMA). CxEnergy 2017 promotes itself as being the premier conference on building commissioning, energy management, and measurement & verification. The event includes educational sessions on wide range of topics relating to commissioning and energy management of the total building enclosure, an exhibit hall featuring the latest in energy management technologies and certification opportunities for ACG’s Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) and EMA’s Energy Management Professional (EMP).

The event was attended by commissioning, energy management, and test & balance professionals, building owners and facility managers, utility providers, and government officials. “I really enjoyed learning about new commissioning techniques that I can apply to current and future Spinnaker projects” said Nabil Maroun, CxA, PE, LEED AP BD+C. Nabil stated that he also learned about new vendor technologies and programs for testing, balancing, and commissioning, as well as Retro-Commissioning trends.

Nabil also attended the workshops, courses, and examinations to renew his CxA certificate for The Spinnaker Group. The ACG’s Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) program has achieved accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). By gaining ANSI accreditation, the CxA credential is also now a recognized certification by the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings® Workforce Guidelines program, ensuring that the CxA is considered an approved commissioning credential for all federally funded projects. In addition, the combination of ANSI accreditation and Better Buildings recognition means that any state or local jurisdiction, code organization, or others seeking to ensure that they are using an industry-accepted, third-party validated, ISO 17024-compliant commissioning certification can confidently specify ACG’s certified commissioning authority.

The recognition of the CxA credential by these two programs, combined with the largest pool of certified commissioning providers in the world and ACG members’ longstanding commitment to the principle of independent, third-party commissioning services, cements the CxA as the preeminent commissioning credential for both new and existing buildings.

The Spinnaker Group is proud of Nabil’s accomplishments and his dedicated work in providing the best in Building Commissioning services for our clients.
