Did you know? That the Scientific Certification System is certifying products under the new Green Squared standard (ANSI A138.1)? This standard has been created by the Tile Council of North America.
Green Squared is the tile flooring industries first sustainability standard. There are five categories:
- Product’s environmental characteristics.
- Innovation associated with the product or its manufacture.
- Manufacturing process and operations associated with the product.
- End of life product management.
- Manufacture’s corporate governance.
Products are evaluated on a point system format that allows designers, facility professionals, and consumers to compare products based on their achievements. The green market is demanding more science-based, transparent, and comprehensive information on environmental attributes of products.
