The Living Building Challenge: The Future of Green Building

On November 12th in Fort Lauderdale the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Branches of the USGBC South Florida Chapter presented a special program exploring the growth of the Living Building Challenge in South Florida.

Local sustainability leaders Jonathan Burgess and Rob Hink of the Spinnaker Group and Rochelle Routman of Mohawk Industries presented on the technical aspects of each LBC Imperative and Eric Corey Freed, Vice President of Global Outreach for the International Living Future Institute presented a global overview of Living Building Challenge.

The Living Building Challenge™ is a building certification program, advocacy tool and philosophy that defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment, which acts to rapidly diminish the gap between current limits and the end-game positive solutions we seek.
